I was in a situationship a couple of years ago and I told myself I wouldn't get emotionally invested. However, I eventually started feeling some type of way. So, I let it go.
Earlier this year, I almost settled for another situationship, but left it alone before it even went there. I really liked the dude, but I wasn't trying to "go with the flow."
I never viewed situationships as one-sided because either person could sever it. Situationships can look different for everyone, but my definition is simply an "in between" or "grey area."
This definition reminded me of a friend who said women pretended they could operate like men where the bedroom is concerned, but we're just not built for it.
I don't regret my situationship, but I'm glad I got out when I did. I'm also glad I avoided a second situationship and chose me.

Wow, when this girl died people ran with the narrative that her death was the result of her mocking the dead. The "dead" being an ex-boyfriend people believed she killed. According to this video and reports from her , her song, "That's My Ex Pack" was completely metaphorical. She had never killed anyone, but it's alleged that she allowed people to interpret her lyrics in that way for clout. So, those believing she deserved what she got, believed so based on a false narrative. Sad.https://youtu.be/lxYn_cziUXc?si=jE-9rcSYjAahecUY

Female Rapper TanDaGod Hit with a Switch after Opening Fire on Boyfriend's Opp's (New Details)
Last week, I saw a post that poked fun at the way Black people name their businesses. I found it quite humorous, and even more so now that I have stumbled across a restaurant near me named Hungry AF. Lol!

I've been reading commentary on the whole Princess Love/Sukihana/RayJ debacle and I must say the perspectives are very interesting.
As expected, the light skinned vs dark skinned and "classy" vs "ratchet" viewpoints are most prevalent. I also saw a comment characterizing RayJ as "hood" and wanting a hood chick. One commenter theorized that the only "type" men have is ๐ธ, debunking any theory that pits these women against each other from any angle. Another commenter stated that preferences are shocked when they learn Black men like Black women. And others dismiss the "who" because RayJ could be sliding with anybody, but it happens to be Suki right now.
What I find most interesting is the perspective that Suki is the "fun girl," which, some believe makes her more attractive than a Princess Love. It reminds me of the reception Sexyy Red got when she came on the scene and her supporters loved that she was "herself." When I looked at Sexyy through that lens, I understood. It's the relatability. I think the same goes for Suki. I haven't liked a lot of Suki's antics, but I have caught glimpses of other sides of her, that I have found likable. I think people forget that Princess used to be a stripper. So, in that regard and depending on how people view class, I'm not sure how much "classier" she is when compared to Suki.
It's funny how the internet runs away with things. We know little about the relationship between RayJ and Suki. All we know is that Princess has exposed that they have something going on. Princess and RayJ have always had a tumultuous relationship and I believe they are divorcing. I'm surprised this is such a hot topic today.

I just watched a video on this dude Mazi, who was a popular social media figure and up and coming Atlanta rapper. Most notably, however, he was a jack boy who proudly proclaimed to be a real street ๐ฅท. He was also known for his association with Kat Stackz. I feel like I was holding my breath the entire time I watched it. This man got shot so many times, and multiple times each time. Many of the clips featured him taunting his opps, posting his locations, and bascially saying "come get me." It's just wild. This man was 31 years old when he was killed. One of his friends was so accustomed to him being shot, that the news he was shot was nothing, but the fact that he died as a result was shocking. I'm aware that people who involve themselves in certain activities understand what comes with it, but watching it play out via social media and news clips was wild.

Let's talk being a "girl's girl." It's a term I have only recently become familiar with in the past 2-3 years. I interpreted it to mean a woman who supports women. I often see it used in the blogs amid the topic of female rappers. A few days ago, I watched a TikTok from a woman explaining why being a girl's girl is not a real thing. She used a woman from TikTok, "Cooking With Kya," as an example for why being a girl's girl is not a real thing. Her rationale was that women were questioning why men found Cooking With Kya attractive. She said that Cooking With Kya is everything men have been saying they liked for years, yet other women were rejecting her as an ideal because she didn't meet the wig, lashes, bbl esthetic. I hadn't previously heard of Cooking With Kya, but when I went to look at her I agreed that she is what men have been saying they like/want. However, I found this to be an interesting example to use to debunk the existence of "girl's girls." I took the video to mean that women can't be girl's girls if they are hating on other women, which is valid. However, even as a girl's girl you may have a dissenting opinion on topics involving other women. How do you interpret the term? Ladies, are you a girl's girl? If so, how?

Chile, this Remy Ma/Papoose drama just gets messier and messier. Who would have thought the so-called poster couple for "Black Love" would come to this. Sad.

Physical attraction versus chemistry: Which is more important?
I would love to hear from the ladies on these two scenarios.
Thirty-something, single woman meets a guy in person. He is stellar on paper. She believes his resume and accolades are perfect accompaniments to hers. She isn't physically attracted to him, but they do have chemistry. She is on the fence about continuing to date him.
Fifty-something widow meets a guy online. She is not concerned about his accomplishments, as she wants companionship more than anything. They get along well and have chemistry, but she takes issue with his not getting haircuts or maintaining his facial hair, even at her urging. She doesn't like that he looks unkempt and is ready to get rid of him.

There are many men on here whom I enjoy interacting with because they are humorous, intelligent, and mentally well. Shout out to the men of Black Planet who don't spend their time actively seeking out women to harass. Happy Friday to yall ๐
